When 're-encode' is enabled, every file you add is convered into WMA format with lower bitrate. (The original file remains unchanged). This option is enabled by default. Re-encoding allows for:

• Better use of storage space.
• Compatibility for all files.

Only the tags Title,Album,Artist,Genre,Track #,Year are copied back into the new wma file.

Note: This operation requires an MP3 codec (decoder) and MS Media player 9 codecs (encoder). If for some reason any of those two codecs is mising, then adding files will fail. You have to disable this option or install the missing codec.
